By now, you can probably boast some hard skills that are related to engineering. However, it is important to know what kind of engineering you’re required to demonstrate in your set of skills for the engineering intern resume. Electrical engineering is different from mechanical engineering. Make sure you include soft skills too, such as a team player, cooperation, good organization, etc.
Education
This section can be larger than usual, as you rely on your academic achievements to pave your way into the engineering internship. List not only your degree(s) but also add your GPA, relevant coursework, awards, certificates, special training, etc. If you have not graduated yet, specify the expected year of graduation.
Work history
How you fill in this section will depend on what kind of work experience you’ve had. If you have had no relevant jobs, but worked as a barista or salesperson, try to find angles that can be relevant to the position you’re seeking. For example, highlight your transferable skills. Milk your academic achievements for all their worth. You can create new sections, such as Awards, Certificates, and Interests, especially if you can list many items in each, or you can cram them all into the Education section. In any case, each instance of extracurricular activity you deem right to include can add to your image as a great candidate. The recruiter may see you as somebody who learned leadership in projects, persistence in sports, or creative thinking in the arts.
